Candy5 is in early stages and will inherit CyanogenMod bugs and issues. But some we have resolved ourselves.
The base has been tested and passed most users needs for a Daily Driver.
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. The main goal is to offer users a slimmed down but still feature rich alternative to other android operating systems. The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code. All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by the public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
SlimLP is currently in alpha / beta stage
SlimLP Features -
DPI Changer.
Customizable Battery Styles.
Support for RRO Overlays. This is the next Generation Theme Manager. Its still in development.
After searching everywhere for the modem I747MVLUFNK2 and with no luck, I downloaded the firmware from SamMobile and unzipped and created the modem. I accidentally flashed the incorrect file and lost my baseband and service; once I downloaded the correct modem to match my bootloader and flashed in TWRP my service came back and all is good.
Disclaimer: OctOs is a WIP. It has been evaluated as being stable, and is suitable for daily use in most cases. While it may be considered stable, there may be unknown bugs. The development team is not responsible for any damage to your device or your information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 5 (Lollipop)?
A: Yes, this is Android 5.0.2
Q: What code is Oct-L based on?
A: Starting with Oct-L, we've rebased OctOs on the CyanogenMod 12 code.
Q: What happened to AOSP?
A: All Android code is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). Under previous releases, we tried very hard to limit the number of "Not from Google directly" repositories that we used. Unfortunately, issues with devices, the need for Code Aurora Foundation (CAF) repositories for Qualcomm devices, and compatibility issues meant fighting code more often than not. We decided that since the code-base for many repositories were the same across most ROMs, picking a starting point to build the user experience on outweighed the desire to craft code from scratch, or fix broken code to make it work with other changes we already had.
Q: Why isn't there XXXXXXX feature.
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But CM and all the others have..
A: ROM developers, including CM, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-L.
Q: Superuser or SuperSU?
A: Team OctOs uses SuperSU and is installed automatically.
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favourite Android 5 based GApps package
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
Factory Reset from TWRP
Flash ROM and GApps .ZIP files
Reboot
The Oct-L ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /data/dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your GApps Provider
The foundation of the Android OS is the fact that is it open-source. We have all code we use internally in the creation of Oct-L available on our GitHub repositories.
Unless otherwise specified, all Oct-L builds use the device's stock CyanogenMod 12 kernel.
This kernel supports only Lollipop AOSP. Should support all roms but not sure about Slim, if it doesn't work for a ROM please upload the boot.img from the ROM and post it here and I will see about adding support. Basically this kernel was developed only for CyanideL ROM but has progressed into a decent standalone kernel from reports as I do not own this device, so I thought I would just go ahead and share it so it was known and people could use it for other Lollipop Roms since I keep the source updated for the ROM I figured a kernel with some features and up to date source would be worth posting. Hopefully you all enjoy it

Hi all Im new to the dev scene here on xda but recently I flashed Likewise S5 on my SGH-I747M you can find the link below. So likewise runs on @ibuddlers kernel and its a really good kernel but i was tired of the same "SAMSUNG GALAXY SIII" boot logo before the animation. So i looked around and found a thread to change the logo (link also below). I wanted to change my logo but not drasticaly. I was looking at some new devices booting up on youtube eg. S6,M9 and found they all had this "POWERED BY ANDROID" logo on the bottom of the booting screen. Thats what I put in and im going to show you guys how.
-kernel of your choice the "boot.img" file
-Odin Flasher tool and knowledge of how to use it
LETS BEGIN:
STEP 1 : UNPACK THE KERNEL
-Extract android kitchen to the desktop in a folder called "aIMGchanger"
-Extract Windows Image Editior to the desktop in a folder called "wIMGtool"
-Put boot.img in the "aIMGchanger" folder
-Open CMD in the "aIMGchanger" folder and type the following command
Code:
unpackimg boot.img
STEP 2: FIND THE IMAGE AND CONVERT IT TO PNG
-Now go to the aIMGchanger\ramdisk folder
-Look for the ".rle" file mine was "initlogo.rle"
-Copy that file and paste it in the "wIMGtool" folder you created earlier (remember its name)
-Open CMD in the "wIMGtool" folder and type the following command
Code:
rle2png nameoftthrle.rle 000x000
nameoftthrle.rle = write the name of your rle
000x000 = write your phone's resolution
FOR EXAMPLE MINE WOULD BE:
Code:
rle2png initlogo.rle 720x1280
-Close the CMD Window now
-There should now be a .png file in the "wIMGtool" folder
-Edit it with the photo editor of your choice and place it back in the "wIMGtool" folder
STEP 3: Convert the PNG back to RLE
-Open CMD in the "wIMGtool" folder and type the following command
Code:
png2rle nameofttherle.png
nameoftthrle.rle = write the name of your rle
STEP 4: PLCAE THE RLE BACK IN AND REPACK THE BOOT.IMG
-Now you should have a file like this "nameofyourrle.rle.png.rle"
-Rename it to the orignal file name you remember from STEP 2
-Place it back in the aIMGchanger\ramdisk folder
Open CMD in the "wIMGtool" folder and type the following command
Code:
repackimg
-Rename the "image-new.img" to "boot.img"
STEP 5: CONVERT IMG TO TAR AND FLASH VIA ODIN
-Extract the IMG to TAR tool and place your new boot.img inside the extracted folder
-Run "ImgToTar.MD5.bat"
-There should now be a boot.tar file in the IMGtoTartool folder
-Open Odin and Flash it
-Enjoy
IMPORTANT: PLEASE FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS IN THE EXACT ORDER WRITTEN TO AVOID BOOTLOOPED OR BRICKED DEVICES!!! YOU MUST BE ON 4.4 BOOTLOADER AND MODEM!!! YOU MUST BE ON 4.4 BOOTLOADER AND MODEM!!!

I have recently scoured Google for a way to edit the speaker and headphone volume with no success. There are numerous posts and threads dealing with KitKat and older versions but none that I have found dealing with Lollpop, or if there are posts they didn't seem to include the s3 d2att. Covering the articles I have read, most of the information lead me to edit the sound files in "system, etc" I have yet to find any sound or volume values, and was wondering if these files have now been implemented into the kernel or where they are now located. Any help will be noted and thanked and my intention is to create a zip file to automatically change the initial values to say 63 or whatever. I plan on re-submitting these findings on XDA for others to use for free

I am not associated with Dirty Unicorn team and that is the reason this is Unofficial Build
I've tried finding other debloat scripts but unfortunately they either removed too much, or not enough.
This one removes everything that's junky, but still leaves some OK apps such as S Memo, Calculator, etc.
This checks for presence of d2can device, but you could edit the script and make it work on other devices ...
This should be run on latest 4.4.2 firmware from Telus, Bell, Rogers, and it should be run from TWRP recovery.
Please have a current backup in case something goes wrong, although it really shouldn't :)
Tested on Telus/Koodo as well as a Bell phone. You can install on existing phones without wiping data.
Note that this can also be run before flashing SuperSU to remove Knox, and prevent root & recovery rollback.
I've also kept Samsung Account, yes it's needed by some stuff in the Settings menu, and yes you can freeze it,
but it really doesn't do much if you just tell it to go away after it wants to setup a new Samsung Account.
You can also reset the device to factory settings after running this, and nothing will crash on first run.
v2 - added couple Telus apps in addition to the already included Koodo app.
v3 - now removes Telus/Koodo, Bell/SaskTel, Rogers/Fido carrier apps & bug fixes.
Note: If you've already run v1 or v2 you can still run v3, it's not going to hurt anything.
Bootloaders and modem can be found HERE. Note WIFI will most likely not work if you are not updated to the latest NJ2 firmware. Please exercise caution as updating bootloaders can brick your device. If you are already on NJ1 firmware you will be safe to flash. Zip will fail with an error 7 if your firmware doesn't match an assert check to prevent bricks.

hello guys i need help i just recently updated my i747 att and then sim locked since i am out of usa .so i went ahead and then installed custom rom and rooted the device but now the problem is with the IMEI it shows blank imei .
My builds for now are straight from CM source and have been unchanged because I haven't learned how to cherry pick yet. Honestly, it's a miracle that my builds are even working right now
